Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care

At Tyndale, teachers work hard to develop strong relationships with students, both in the classroom and during extra-curricular activities, such as camps, excursions and small group meetings.

Within the context of a supportive community, teachers, acting in partnership with parents, seek to disciple students towards genuine Christ-likeness, modelling and encouraging mutual respect, integrity and accountability. Guidance and correction are part of the making of a disciple; a follower of Jesus Christ.

Students in Secondary School meet regularly in pastoral care groups led by a staff member. These small group gatherings enable students and teachers to connect with each other in a more relaxed context and build on classroom relationships. Students and teachers share in Bible Study and prayer and discuss issues and concerns that are pitched at an age-appropriate level. It is the intention that students travel throughout Secondary School in the same Pastoral Care group and with the same Pastoral Care teacher. Year Stage Wellbeing Coordinators monitor students’ progress and are always available to individual students and their parents.
